I am Keary-retired Army and now trying to adjust to being a stay-at -home wife. My husband, Paul, is also retired Army but he works full-time remote so that I can spend my retirement on fabric. We recently moved to Winterville PLT, ME which is in Aroostock County and about 26 miles from the Canadian border.
We moved our mini donkeys, Gunny and Casper here from PA. Donkeys are a desert animal but Casper thinks that anything above 65 is horrible and Gunny never met a snowstorm or rainstorm that would force him inside. They have adapted quite well to their new home. Most snow free days, we just allow them to free range around the property. They do a great job of keeping the homestead safe.
Nora
Then there is Nora-she moved up from PA as well. Please don’t ask what breed she is…even her DNA test couldn’t tell. We rescued her during COVID and she definitely has some separation anxiety. She is not destructive but will spend hours watching out the window for Daddy to return.
Sedgewick
Next, we have Sedgewick. He is a rescue from the lovely people at Lonely Hearts Animal Rescue in Frederick, MD, that assisted him in his journey from KY to ME. He has a deformity in one front leg, the ulna did not grow, but it doesn’t slow him down a bit. Sedge loves everyone and everything. Thanks to him, Nora is much more social.
